Welcome to Kind Ride Share ("Kind Ride Share," "KindRideShare.net," "I," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, platform, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

1. About the Service

Kind Ride Share is an online rideshare matching platform... We are not a rideshare business, we do not operate rides, supervise interactions, conduct background checks, or employ drivers.

2. Eligibility

Be at least 18 years old
Use truthful and accurate information
Use the Services only for lawful purposes

3. User Accounts

Account Security: You must keep your account login secure.

Unauthorized Access: Notify us at support@kindrideshare.net if unauthorized access occurs.

Termination: We may terminate accounts without notice for violations or unsafe behavior.

4. Commuter Passport Program (Optional)

Users may submit additional personal information for verification...

5. User Conduct

No illegal activity, harassment, fraud, or impersonation.
No scraping or unauthorized data access.

6. User Content

We do not vet or verify users; all interactions are at your own risk.

8. No Transportation Services

We do not arrange rides, employ drivers, or verify vehicles or insurance.

9. Payment & Fees

Some features, such as the Passport, may be paid; core service is free.

10. Privacy

Your use is governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Third-Party Links

We strive to host all content on our localhost, with the exception of some essential services such as Leaflet and OpenStreetMaps. We may provide links to external websites. We are not responsible for external sites.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available."

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the platform.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us from claims related to your use of the Services.

15. Service Modifications

We may modify or discontinue the Services at any time and without notice.

The Kind Ride Share offers optional Commuter Passports to verify user identities. While not required, having a Commuter Passport significantly increases your chances of being matched with a ride more quickly.

Identity verification carries a cost. When a commuter requests a Commuter Passport, the fee for validating state IDs and driver's licenses is nonrefundable.

All payments are non-refundable.

Verification fees cover identity and security-related costs that cannot be reversed.

1. Overview

Kind Ride Share is an online rideshare matching service that allows users to post available rides or request rides. This platform is not a transportation company and do not operate or manage any rides. It provides a bulletin-board-style platform using the latest open source mapping technologies for users to connect, communicate, and coordinate travel independently.

2. Information I Collect

I collect the basic information necessary to operate the platform, including:

Name or display name
Email address
Profile or ride details voluntarily provided by the user
Ride postings including origin, destination, and travel details
Optional reviews or feedback

2.1 Commuter Passport (Optional Verified User Program)

Users who opt in to the Commuter Passport program may voluntarily submit additional personal information for verification and trust-building within the community. This information may include:

Full legal name
Date of birth
Home address
Phone number
Email address
Physical description or identifying details
Optional identification documents such as a state ID or driver's license

Commuter Passport details are securely stored and encrypted. Only the user controls whether to share their Passport with others on the platform. It functions similarly to a "verified user" badge on other services.

3. How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used solely for the functioning of the rideshare-matching platform. This includes:

Displaying ride listings to other users
Allowing members to communicate and coordinate rides
Maintaining safety, trust, and platform integrity
Providing optional identity verification through the Commuter Passport

I never sell or share your information with third parties.

4. Data Access & Encryption

All personal information stored on the Kind Ride Share servers is encrypted. Only registered platform members may view ride details, and only Passport participants may choose to share their verification data. No one else has access to this information unless the user chooses to share it.

5. User Responsibility & Safety

Users are solely responsible for their own safety when coordinating or participating in rides. Kind Ride Share does not verify identities, driving history, or safety backgrounds. Users should take all reasonable steps to protect themselves and make informed decisions.

The platform assumes no liability for user interactions, rides, or outcomes of any arrangements made through the service.

6. Account Deletion & Data Retention

When a user deletes their account, the following policies apply:

Standard Account Data: Fully deleted immediately except for accounts with negative or concerning reviews, where limited information may be retained internally for safety and trust reasons if the user later returns.
Commuter Passport Data:
- Retained for no more than 90 days after account closure, then permanently deleted from active systems.
- Backup copies are overwritten and fully purged within 120 days of account closure.
- Passport information is never visible to others unless the user opts to share it before deletion.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Kind Ride Share uses only essential cookies for login sessions, fraud prevention, and security. I do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics tools.

8. Third-Party Sharing

Kind Ride Share does not sell, rent, or disclose your personal information to any third parties. Information may only be disclosed if legally required, such as through a court order.

9. Updates to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. All updates will be posted to this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
